How to decorate the window will turn any room look better. There are many different ways to treat the windows but the use of the rooms should be considered in choosing the right drapes and window treatments.

Drapes are loosely hanged fabrics used to cover windows, showers or a certain area.They are attractive fabrics that are used to protect the rooms from sunlight, dust and noise. They are also considered as decorative fabrics and they function as good ways of adding decoration and color to a room because of their style, designs and colors. Drapes are long lasting decorative fabrics because of their use.
  1. A valance is a decorative framework to conceal curtain fixtures at the top of window casing. It is also used as a neat border to a blind or a curtain heading. Lambrequins is a valance that extends a halfway down each side of the window. Lambrequins are shaped fabrics that can be used on windows alone or they can go together with drapes and shades.
  2. A Roman Blind is the most elegant style of window treatments. It is neat and clean looking. The horizontal pleats the blinds, if raised, will stay in shape and the blinds stay flat.
  3. A French -pleat drape is a stylish window treatments. Adding a bright button under the rounded shape of the pleats can attract attention. A rounded french pleats are also called goblet pleats.
  4. The tiebacks are pairs of finishing touches to drapes. These tiebacks holds the curtain open to help the natural light to enter into the room. The straight tiebacks are suited for narrow and crescent curtains. The curved tiebacks are suited for wider curtains.
  5. Shower curtains are used to prevent water from going out from the shower. The shower curtain can add color and beauty to the shower area. The shower curtains should be expandable to cover the whole shower door or area. The shower fabric must be waterproof. Many fabrics such as 100 percent nylons, 100 percent PVC and 100 percent vinyl plastics are in different colors and designs that match the scheme of the bathroom.
  6. The tab-top curtains are the most popular drapes because they display the curtain rods. Fabrics that are lightweight, smooth and slippery are the easiest to insert and slide along the curtain rods.
  7. Roller blinds are most suited on windows above a furniture. These roller blinds covers the glass only and the length can be approximately the same as the windows but they can be set to different positions. There are roller blind kits and there are also ready made ones available in the market.
The standard drape headings are simple that function well on small drapes in any weight. The use of hooks and runners are made from plastics or metals. The plastic hooks are slotted to the curtain tape and then into the runners that slot into the rails. Some hooks comes with runners. he wooden, plastic and metal curtain rings are slotted into the rods. The rings must be big enough to slide into the rod. Casing works well with fine fabrics. A fine wire or rod is inserted into the set of stitched in the drapes. A cordless tape or buckram that is applied to the top of the drapes and deep pleats are stitched at the regular intervals and are used on goblets and french pleats. They would work well with medium to heavyweight fabrics. Pencil pleats are row of neat, upright pleats. This drape heading can be used on light to medium weight fabrics. The triple pleats drape heading is used on medium to heavyweight fabrics. Cordless tape is sewn on the top of the drapes, three smaller pleats are handsewn in place to form triple pleats.
