Planting A Tree The roots of the trees when grown can damage a building or house foundation or pavements, make sure to give enough space to the roots of the tree to avoid damages. Planting a tree will work on the right time and the right weather. The better the soil, the better the plant. Prepare the soil and the hole thoroughly. Remove small stones and loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole. The hole must be twice the size of the roots of the tree. Prepare three long ropes or ties and three about 8 inches sticks to hold the tree from strong winds. Position the tree to the center of the hole, cover the roots with soil, backfill it until the ground level. Sway the tree gently back and forth to let soil go down the roots. Keep filling up soil to the ground level. Press the soil gently around the tree. About 36 inches or wider from the position of the plant, insert the sticks around the plant, tie one rope from the stick to the plant, tie the remaining two ropes on each sticks to the plants. Water the plants and refill the soil up to the ground level if the soil goes down after watering the tree. Loosen the tree tie regularly so as not to choke the tree. Remove the tie from the tree after few years. Planting tree in a pot is easy. Fill some stones in the bottom of the pot for proper water drainage. Put some soil mixed with organic matter. Place the tree to the center of the pot, adding the rest of the soil. Press around the tree for firmness. Water the plant. Add more soil if the soil goes down to the roots from watering the plant. The developed plant in the pot can be kept in the pot. Grass can delay the growth of a tree. It is best to put mulch to the base of a tree in its early years. A tree can decay by nature but it can regain it's own health or can be done by pruning. If a tree has developed problems and cannot be assured of its safety, consult a tree surgeon. The tree surgeon will give advices on how to treat the tree's problems. |
