What are the tips on hanging pictures on the wall?Arranging pictures on the wall is considered an art. The pictures, paintings, watercolor pictures and prints pictures are attractive ornaments that can turn out to be decorative items in the house. Hanging pictures, paintings, watercolor pictures and prints in the wall need proper blending and consistency.

If the number of pictures to be hung in the wall is not enough to decorate a boring wall, a mirror or a clock can be a substitute as a decoration on the wall.Mirrors come with framed and unframed edges. The framed mirrors can be hung the same way as pictures. The unframed mirrors can have holes at each corner if they must be screwed to the wall.Unframed mirrors can also be mounted to a wooden frame with mirror clips in order to hung the mirror to the wall with sliding clips. Below are the tips on hanging pictures on the wall.

  1. Examine walls before putting pictures. Never hang pictures behind electrical cables and pipeworks walls.
  2. Avoid hanging a heavy picture above a small picture.
  3. Framed pictures must have equality effect or view on each wall. A medium sized framed picture on the left is against 2 or 3 small framed pictures on the right side.
  4. Keep pictures around eye level. Don't hang pictures up too high or too low on the wall.
  5. Use bolts to hang heavy pictures.
  6. Hang pictures on the wall by proportion. If hanging only one picture, it should be hung on the center.
  7. If using only one wall to hang different sizes of pictures, spread throughout the wall the small and big pictures so that pictures are not obviously heavy weight on the other side.
  8. Pictures come with different hanging hooks at the back. Be sure to use the right fixings to hang the pictures to prevent from unexpected accidents.
In order not to damage the pictures, paintings, prints, watercolor pictures, keep them away from direct sun, heat and electric light. Make sure that these pictures, clocks and mirrors that hung in the wall are securely fixed to prevent accidents. Remove dust on the pictures regularly to extend their life and to always look neat and tidy. Oil paintings must be dusted more often.
