Buying a house is having an investment. If you sell your house, you get your money back while if you finish your contract in the apartment, you don't get your money back, right? If you are buying a house, the monthly amount you are paying for the home mortgage decreases your balance for the home mortgage and your home equity which is considered an investment increases. Let's say, you are renting a two room apartment for $700.00 a month, you are obligated to pay the monthly rent which is the same thing as paying the monthly mortgage for your house. If you have a mortgage higher of $200.00 than your rent in the apartment, being obligated to pay the extra $200.00 for the mortgage payment, the $200.00 is not your loss because the $200.00 adds up to the equity of your house. A good idea if your budget is not enough to cover up the excess of $200.00, you can let somebody to rent the other room or to the finished basement in addition to your mortgage payment. The good thing to this is, there are homeowner's exemption you can take on your taxes. Do not look at the mortgage interest as a loss, instead consider the house or property as an investment. Remember, the prices of most houses do not depreciate so when selling your house after few years or so, the value of the house or the property being taken cared of is already way more than the original price. It is nice to think that buying a house is investing! Paying a monthly mortgage is like depositing money in the bank! Buy your house and enjoy living in a comfortable home!
