Working safely in the home.

Always consider working safely in whatever tasks that are to be done inside the home whether small repairs or major repairs or doing home improvement tasks. To avoid accidents, always take precautions and follow manufacturing instructions, follow simple guidelines and well, most of which requires common sense.

Never work around obstructions. Move all furnitures or home decorations from your working area in order not to damage them. Working area that is clear of clutters is accessible to reaching things, doing things easily and can result to a quick job progress. Clear up things as you go. Be sure to put all power tool cables around the side of the working area. Switch off power equipments and tools and machineries when not in use. Tools are best placed on a temporary table to avoid clutters. Position the stepladder safely to reach high areas without stretching.

Always wear protective clothings and safety items, most of which have their own safety functions. Protect eyes by using goggles or safety glasses with side protectors. Use ear defenders for masonry and noisy jobs but ensure that you can hear warning noises. Use dusks mask for dirty and dusty jobs. For accessible tools, wearing tool belt around the waist is necessary. Overalls are better work attires because they are one piece clothes that nothing can be caught up especially in operating tools or machines. Shoes such as steel toe should be very strong to protect feet from chemicals and falling items. Gloves are very important to protect hands from working with chemicals, stains, paints and sharp objects. A helmet is necessary when climbing roof or high areas.

Remember to take a break. Schedule a break time to take a snack or foods. Never drink alcohol before going to work and during break time.
