The Garden with water features

What are the types of water features in the garden? A water feature portion in a garden requires little maintenance than ponds. The pond or the water feature in the garden attracts wildlife insects. Plants in the pond are native plants because there is a continous supply of water. The oxygenating plants help to clear the water. They are the plants that grow fast and spread underneath the water. The floating plants give a platform to insects. Some unknown plants emerge in between the shallow areas and rocks.

A water garden features a natural garden style. The gurgle pond water garden is used to characterize a corner. The gurgle water garden is best for self-contained water features because the reservoir and pump are hidden and the pipe just fits into a hole that gurgles up water. Cascades and waterfalls are striking. If there are no nearby soil in the water garden, plants in the container and pots are useful to beautify the surroundings. Raised pond water gardens are useful if there are problems with the soil but they are not easy to do. Sculptures and metal spouts are modern settings of water gardens.

Water lilies, hostas, rodgersias, rheum are lush plants for water gardens.

The Pond

A pond can be made even with a very small space in the garden. A simple pond in a small space is made by lining a raised bed with a butyl line and fastening underneath. A large container can be made as a mini pond. Large plastic barrels are widely used as a mini pond because they are deep enough to hold any oxygenating plants. In making a pond in the garden, make it as big as possible with a deep of about 75 to 80 cm in the other portions. A mini pond should be less than 40 cm to control the algae easily. The end border should be shallow to allow wildlife to climb in and out easily. Combining the floating and oxygenating plants will inspire a large number of wildlife to visit the pond.

The self contained water feature

Aside from the pond, a self contained water feature is also pretty in a garden. This water feature is consist of fixed level of water and is continually recirculating by the use of submersible pump. A patio, balcony or even a corner can have a water feature garden because tiny pumps are affordable. These water features are child-friendly than ponds because the water in the reservoir is hidden. These water features are focal points in the garden and they are very low maintenance garden projects.
