When choosing appliances, make sure that the appliances are energy efficent. Energy efficiency is very important in saving a lot of money. How do these energy efficent appliances save money? Well, these appliances passed or met the strict efficiency guidelines from EPA and the US Department of Energy. This means that these appliances use less amount of electricity or energy. All major appliances have Energy Star Logo that come with them. Another label to see if the appliance is energy efficient is the yellow label that the manufacturer has attached with the appliance. The yellow label indicates informations on how much amount of energy the appliance will use during its operation.

These energy efficient appliances when being used can reduce air pollution to environment because of their use of less electricity during their operation.   8. As much as possible, use programmable thermostat or lower the thermostat when leaving the house.
